Lane County Volunteer Libraries
Several rural communities have made an enormous effort to build and run volunteer libraries without tax dollars.  Libraries in Dexter, Creswell, Alvadore, Leaburg, Lowell, and Blue River are run by volunteers. But without money for books, staff, or Internet access, these struggling volunteer libraries have very small collections and are open only a few hours a week.
